.
❤️ Give books Instead of cards - when my friends arranged my baby shower they all gave me a copy of their favourite children’s book, and wrote a lovely message on the inside cover. I treasure them still and read from them to Rupert and Ophelia most nights
❤️ Late night nappy changing messages - get a pen and paper and ask guests to write something funny or a piece of advice to parents for them to read whilst changing late night nappies. It’s a thoughtful and fun thing to do that will make any tired new mummy smile
❤️ Time capsules - get guests to write a lettter to the baby for them to read on their 18th bday.
❤️ Include fathers in the baby shower - baby showers don’t just have to be for women. Make it a Co Ed party so that fathers don’t feel left out
😩DON’T include games such as “smell the nappy.” It suddenly turns a sophisticated baby shower into a hen do. Keep it classy.
😩Share war stories about birth. Firstly it’s not a competition and secondly it’s the last thing a pregnant mummy wants to hear!
😩If the parents have put together a gift list, please buy from it. They have probably spent time thinking about what they REALLY need so will appreciate you buying from it.
