Things every mummy learns in her baby’s first year⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀
You learn a lot in your baby’s first year. Here are some of the things I’ve learnt during my time as a mummy:⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 you need at least one mummy friend who you can text about anything and everything, at any time of the day or night⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 you’ll need to have a response for when a stranger asks you “are you breastfeeding?” “Are you going back to work” “is your baby sleeping through the night” (you’ll find EVERYONE feels it’s their job to ask how you’re bringing up your baby!)⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 it’s ok to take your baby to the doctor because YOU are worried, even if everyone else says “it’s fine!”⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 dont rush crawling or walking - once it happens you’ll be wishing they were still just staying put!⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 don’t feel guilty about doing nothing when your baby sleeps. You need a break too.⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 a family dance party will cure most problems ⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 it’s ok for you partner to do things differently to you. Every parent is allowed their own way. It’s not wrong, it’s just different ⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 babies will eventually sleep through everything - except when you are silently tiptoeing towards them to give them a kiss goodnight 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 you’re capable of doing things you used to think were impossible⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 always carry extra clothes for you and your baby. Poo explosions can happen at very unexpected times!⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 it’s totally normal to need to a break from your baby - you are not a bad mummy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

What did you learn since becoming a mummy? ⠀
